Reco privacy policy

Reco has no account, no sign-up and no server of its own. Skailex cannot see your books, your marks or which features you use, because none of it is sent to us.
What we collect
Nothing. Skailex operates no server for Reco, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party tracker or advertising SDK in the app. We do not know who installed it.
Where your reading lives
Books and covers
Your own iCloud container. Reco has no server of its own.
Highlights, notes, ink, goals, review schedule
On the device, and synced device to device through your iCloud.
Crash and hang reports
Written by Apple's own system to a file inside the app. Nothing is uploaded. You send one by hand from the shelf if you want to.
Ask AI
Hands a link to the system, which opens Claude or ChatGPT. Reco makes no request and gets no answer back. The same shape as tapping a link in Mail.
Notion and Obsidian export
Your own token, your own workspace, started by you.
Importing a book from a link
One download of a file you chose.
iCloud is your own Apple account, governed by Apple's terms rather than ours. We have no access to it.
The one thing that leaves your device
Reco can turn a mark into a flashcard using OpenAI. This is off by default and cannot run until you paste your own OpenAI API key into the app, where it is kept in the device Keychain.
With it on, the text of the mark you are turning into a card is sent to api.openai.com under your key and your own agreement with OpenAI. Skailex never sees it and never holds it. Turn the feature off, or remove the key, and nothing is sent.
Because that text is transmitted off the device, Reco's App Store privacy label declares Other User Content, used for app functionality, not linked to your identity and not used for tracking. That is the only row on the label.
Children
Reco is rated 4+ and collects nothing from anybody, of any age.
Changes
If what Reco sends anywhere ever changes, this page changes in the same release, and the date at the top moves with it.
