What it does

PDFs and EPUBs, on your iPhone, iPad and Mac. Your place, your zoom and your marks follow you between them through your own iCloud.
Mark
Highlight a line and add a why. Draw on the page with Apple Pencil. Pin a quote to a board beside the text. Snip a figure out of a page.
Remember
Daily Review brings back a handful of your own marks each day, on a schedule that spreads out the ones you know. The cards are your words.
Find
Search every book at once, and search your own notes separately from the author's sentences.
See
A streak, a daily goal in pages or minutes, and focus blocks that count only while you are actually reading.
Send
Your marks out as Markdown, to Obsidian, to Notion, to Apple Notes, or anywhere the share sheet reaches.

One thing leaves your device, and only if you switch it on
If you add your own OpenAI key, Reco can turn a mark into a flashcard. That sends the marked text to OpenAI under your key. It is off until you turn it on, and turning it off stops it. Everything else stays where it is - the full account is on the privacy page.
